No-Drill Fix
Small rentals never have enough hidden storage, but a cheap round table topped with a floor-length skirt creates a disguised cubby for bins, files, or off-season clothes. Nothing touches the walls, nothing gets glued down, and the whole setup lifts away in seconds when you move — deposit fully intact.
What You'll Need
- Small round folding table, 24-30 inches (about $25-40)
- Floor-length round tablecloth or fitted table skirt (about $20-35)
- 2-3 stackable storage bins or baskets sized to fit under the table (about $10 each)
- Removable velcro strips or clips to keep the skirt in place, optional (about $5)
How to Do It
- Choose a spot near a wall or in a corner where a round table would otherwise just take up space.
- Set up the folding table and load the underside with bins or baskets, sorted by what you need to grab often versus rarely.
- Drape the floor-length cloth over the table so it skims the ground on all sides, fully concealing the storage beneath.
- Secure the skirt with a few removable velcro strips along the table edge if it shifts easily — these peel off clean and leave no residue.
- Style the tabletop with a lamp, plant, or photos so it reads as a normal side table, not a storage hack.
- Pack up at move-out by simply lifting the cloth and folding the table — no tools, no traces, no landlord questions.
DESIGNER TIP
Pick a skirt in a solid color that matches your wall tone so the whole setup visually disappears into the room instead of drawing attention.
